1. Rights holder

Davide Sironi — author, developer and holder of all intellectual property rights in the mobile application Matematt (technical name: “Matematica per Bambini”), in this website and in all related content.

2. Scope of protection

The following are protected by copyright under the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works, EU Directive 2009/24/EC on the legal protection of computer programs, and Italian Law No. 633 of 22 April 1941 (as amended):

  • The source code of the application, in all its versions and variants
  • The graphical interface, design, illustrations, icons and logo
  • The educational content: learning paths, lesson structure, explanatory text, exercises
  • The text of the website, guides and documentation
  • The name “Matematt” and related distinctive signs
  • The software architecture, data structures and original algorithms

3. Prohibited uses

The following are expressly prohibited without the prior written consent of the rights holder:

  • Reproducing, copying or duplicating, in whole or in part, the source code, graphics or content of the application or the website
  • Modifying, adapting or creating derivative works based on the application or its content
  • Decompiling, disassembling or reverse engineering the application
  • Distributing, sub-licensing or making available the application or parts thereof to third parties, outside the official distribution channels (Google Play Store, Apple App Store)
  • Using the name “Matematt”, the logo or confusingly similar signs in a manner likely to create confusion with the original application
  • Systematically extracting data, educational content or structures from the application or the website (scraping)

4. Distinctive signs

The name “Matematt” and the associated logo are distinctive signs of Davide Sironi, used continuously since 2024 to identify the application and related services. Unauthorised use of the name, the logo or confusingly similar signs by third parties, likely to mislead the public, may constitute unfair competition under applicable law, including Article 2598 of the Italian Civil Code and, where applicable, the common law of passing off or the Lanham Act (15 U.S.C. § 1125).

5. Website

All content published on the website app-android-matematt.web.app — text, images, screenshots, guides, videos and graphic material — is the exclusive property of Davide Sironi and is protected by the same copyright provisions.

6. Educational programmes

The learning paths within the application are inspired by the curriculum guidelines published by the respective national institutions (MIUR, DfE, Common Core State Standards, LOMLOE). The application is not produced, endorsed, certified or affiliated with any of these institutions. References to national curricula are for descriptive purposes only.

7. End-user licence

Downloading the application from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store grants the user a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the application on the user’s own device for educational purposes. This licence does not entail any transfer of intellectual property rights.

8. Infringement reports

Anyone who believes that their rights have been infringed by the application or the website, or who becomes aware of any unauthorised use of the application, the name or the content of Matematt, may report it to: info@matematt.app.

If you are a copyright owner (or authorised agent) and believe that content hosted on this website infringes your copyright, you may submit a notification in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) to the address above, including: (i) identification of the copyrighted work, (ii) identification of the infringing material, (iii) your contact information, (iv) a statement of good faith belief, and (v) a statement of accuracy under penalty of perjury.

9. Disclaimer

The application is provided “as is” for educational support purposes. The author does not warrant that the application is free from errors or interruptions. The application is intended as a supplement to, not a replacement for, classroom instruction or parental guidance. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the author shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of the application.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

This legal notice is governed by Italian law. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Milan, Italy, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the user’s country of residence that cannot be derogated by agreement.
